Under Gregory François's leadership, GOWY was born in 2005.
The band quickly started to compose their own songs and released the album "Essential Tracks", which offered the opportunity for GOWY to become the supporting act for numerous bands and to go on tour with Christophe Godin, for the "Mörglbl with Friends" tour.
From the day he took part in the 2012 edition of the Vigier Day, Grégory François has been endorsed by the excellent French guitar brand Vigier, and then by Two-notes. Guitar-pro also has taken interest in Gowy.
In 2013, the EP "One take", which was recorded in a studio, was released. The band then launched a crowdfunding campaign in order to cover the cost of a new album. Thanks to the audience's support, "ATOMS" was released in 2016. Its promotional concert release was what we call "un tour de force", as the House Manager had to add extra seats so that everybody could fit in the room. This overwhelming success enabled the band to play as the opening act for Nina Attal and to win the Tritonales (a French music prize) after the unanimous vote of the Committee.
In 2017, the band played "ATOMS" on the mythical stag of the Triton aux Lilas, where the band Magma often comes to play. After wearing out miles and miles of guitar strings, GOWY has decided to take a break to work on a third album, currently in progress.
